SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
Pirin Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has alpine character with three peaks towering above 2,900m and provides runs and tracks for all levels, from novice to expert.
Skiing and boarding in Bansko is excellent with a state of the art brand new lift system and gondola. At present, there are a total of 65km of ski-runs and paths, 30km of which are covered by 44 snow cannons, ensuring the runs are kept snow covered and in excellent condition. There is a brand new dedicated Snow Park with 90m by 16m half pipe for snowboarders and the resort also caters for extreme sports with paragliding and heli-skiing. Bansko also boasts one of the longest ski seasons in Europe.
The excellent ski school offers classes to all levels. Ski equipment rental services offer world famous brands and there are ski package offers with classes, unlimited lift use, equipment hire and storage facilities.
APRES SKI
Bansko nightlife is centred around the vast number of "mehanas", taverna style bar restaurants with traditional decor, roaring open fires and substantial menus, many have live music with local musicians. There are a couple of discos and an English bar which opens 24 hours and has Sky. The price of eating and drinking is very low compared to other European ski destinations.
